
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is a United States Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratory located in Livermore, California. It is one of the largest and most respected research and development centers in the world.
The laboratory was founded in 1952, and its original buildings were designed to meet the needs of the Cold War era. Many of these buildings are now outdated and in need of renovation or expansion.
In recent years, LLNL has embarked on a major renovation and expansion program. The goal of this program is to create a modern, state-of-the-art laboratory that can meet the challenges of the 21st century.
