Naval Facility Engineering Command

The Naval Facility Engineering Command (NAVFAC) is a command of the United States Navy that provides engineering, construction, and environmental support to naval installations around the world. NAVFAC Atlantic is responsible for NAVFAC facilities in the Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions, including MCAS Cherry Point.

MCAS Cherry Point is a Marine Corps Air Station located in Havelock, North Carolina. It is the home of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing and is one of the largest Marine Corps air stations in the world.

The base is currently undergoing a $1.2 billion renovation project. The renovation project includes the construction of a new entry control facility, a new maintenance hangar, and a new training facility. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.
