Royal Columbian Hospital

The Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada is a 490-bed acute care hospital that provides a wide range of services to patients from across the Fraser Health region. The hospital is also a major teaching and research center and is home to the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s Fraser Valley campus.

The RCH building was constructed in 1978 and has undergone several renovations over the years. The most recent renovation was a $734 million redevelopment project that was completed in 2018. The redevelopment project added a new 10-story acute care tower, expanded the emergency department and maternity unit, and added new operating rooms and other medical facilities.
