The Ute Mountain Casino & Hotel in Towaoc, Colorado was built in 1993. It is the first tribal gaming facility in the state of Colorado. The casino was built on land that was set aside for the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe in the 1880s.
The casino was designed by architect John M. Dekker and Associates. The design incorporates traditional Ute Mountain Ute motifs and symbols. The exterior of the casino is made of red sandstone, which is a material that is sacred to the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe.
The casino has undergone several renovations in 2018. The casino added a new 10,000 square foot event center, a new spa, and a new restaurant. The casino also updated its gaming floor, added new slot machines and table games.
